What Is Fly Fishing
Fly-fishing is an ancient angling method of catching fish especially effective in catching trout and salmon. In this method, flies are used to lure or excite the fish. It is already tested that in Fly-fishing anglers catch the fish easier than the traditional way.
Actually, there are two basic forms of fly-fishing: dry flies and wet flies.
In dry fly method, you need to prepare a material that floats or a floatant in order for it to sit on the water surface while the fly goes down. Dry fly technique is very effective especially for slower and clearer rivers. Dry flies would help the angler’s detect the fish easier through spotting where the fish resides in pools and pocket in streams. Dry fly fishing is thus useful by keeping the fly and the line floating on the surface. This makes fish excited and aggressive; the angler can then spot the location of the fish and in turn catches fish easier.
On the other hand, the wet flies works below the water. Its named wet because it i truly wet fly luring the fishes to be caught. It is as effective as the dry fly al tough in the cases where you fish in weedy areas, the fly might blend with the weeds so the fish won’t notice it directly. This is because weeds in rich rivers tend to grow closer to the surface, thus traditional wet fly fishing is almost ineffective.
In the later centuries, the fly fishing has become a great sport as it has been developed through the concept basis of the past. The sport of fly-fishing has become most popular in North America considering it the birthplace of the sport specifically the City of Calgary, Alberta. The place has become the epicenter for the Western Fly Fishing in North America.
